Cherry Creek, ranked No. 106 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, is Colorado’s 5A state camp again after overcoming a ten-point halftime deficit against Legend. The difference in the second half was freshman running back Elijah Cromwell, who scored both second half touchdowns. He finished with finished with 102 yards rushing on 17 carries.
“Credit Legend,” said Cherry Creek head coach Dave Logan to CHSAANow.com. “I knew this would be a difficult game, they’re a really good football team. We had some things go not our way in the first half and I told the guys ‘we have committed to playing 48 minutes, and we’ve only played 24.’”
Logan, a former NFL wide receiver, has now won a total of twelve state championships as a head coach in the state. It’s his sixth with Cherry Creek.
