Cocoa, No. 11 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, is now a back-to-back state champion in Florida’s Class 2S. Friday night, the Tigers beat Bradford 20-6 on Ken Riley Field at Bragg Memorial Stadium on the campus of Florida A&M University.
Bradford, playing in its first title game, took a 6-0 lead in the first quarter, but that would be the last time that the Tornadoes would find the end zone against Cocoa.
The championship is the sixth overall for the Tigers, whose only loss this year was a controversial one against No. 6 St. Thomas Aquinas.
