No. 14 Folsom needs overtime to beat No. 100 Cathedral Catholic for California state championship

Folsom, ranked No. 14 in the latest High School Football America 100, won its second straight California Division I-AA state championship Friday night with a 21-14 win over Cathedral Catholic, ranked No. 100 nationally.

Playing in its third straight state champion game, Folsom trailed CC 7-0 and 14-7 in the second half. Boise State verbal commit Kaiden Bennett connected with Joe Ngata on a touchdown pass with about a minute-and-a-half to go in regulation that tied the game at 17. Then in overtime, Bennett, who finishes the season with 62 touchdown passes, hit CJ Hutton for the game-winning score.
