Miami Central is now a four-time reigning Florida high school football champ. Friday night, the Rockets, ranked No. 2 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, beat No. 8 American Heritage (Plantation) 38-31 for the 2M state championship.

Now, the question is, was it enough to push Central to the top of our national rankings. The Rockets were just a hair (.00015 in HSFA algorithm) behind St. John Bosco (California) in the hunt for the 2022 national championship.

Central was dominant in the first half, taking a 31-13 lead into the locker room. In the second half, AH kept closing, but couldn’t catch the Rockets.

The win means that Miami Central has now won four straight championship twice.

As far as the national championship, High School Football America will crown its national champ on Sunday.
