For the first time since 2016, DeMatha (Maryland) is the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Capital Division champ. The Stags beat arch-rival Good Counsel (Maryland) 16-7 Sunday night in the championship game at Navy-Marine Corp Stadium in Annapolis.
After winning the regular season title, DeMatha entered the postseason as the top seed.
The win caps a 10-1 season for DeMatha, who is currently ranked No. 22 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. Good Counsel entered the game ranked No. 68.
