No. 22 Denton Ryan beats No. 27 Highland Park on New Year’s Day Texas Playoff Showdown

After state semifinal losses to Highland Park in 2016, 2017 and 2018, Denton Ryan avenged those defeats on New Year’s Day to advance to the Texas Class 5A Division I state semifinals next weekend. The Raiders, ranked No. 22 in the High School Football America 100 national rankings powered by BlackMP Living Water, defeated HP 17-7 at Globe Life Park.

Next up, Ryan will face Mansfield Summit, a 41-38 winner over Red Oak.
