Playing one of the toughest schedules in Georgia has led Cedar Grove to another Georgia high school football championship. Wednesday, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons, the Saints beat Savannah Christian 49-28 for the Class 3A championship.

Savannah Christian kept it close into the second quarter, tying the game at 14-all on a Zo Small TD run.

A couple of touchdown passes from EJ Colson, a Central Florida-recruit, gave the Saints a 28-14 lead at the half that they never gave up.

Cedar Grove, which entered the game ranked No. 229 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, now owns five state championships in the last eight years.
