No. 230 Houston tops to No. 120 Oakland for Tennessee 6A high school football championship

For the first time ever, Houston High School is a Tennessee high school football champ. Saturday night at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, the Mustangs snapped Oakland’s run of three straight 6A state championships with a 24-9 win in the final game of the nine-game championship weekend.

Running back Damon Sisa gained 179 yards on 30 carries with one touchdown.

Houston will now move up in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Mustangs entered the game ranked No. 230. Oakland started the game ranked No. 120 in the nation.
