Two-time defending state champ Hoover, ranked No. 24 in the High School Football America 100, rebounded from last week’s loss to No. 6 St. John’s College High School from Washington, D.C. with a convincing 45-26 over No. 38 Thompson before 10,000 fans in Hoover Friday night. The Bucs had to overcome being penalized for 180 yards on 17 yellow flags.
Hoover outrushed the Warriors 305-to-83. Larry McCammon led the way with 103 yards on the ground with three touchdowns.

Thompson quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa, an Alabama-recruit, threw the ball 61 times, completing 33 for 474 yards and four touchdowns.
Hoover leads the all-time series 22-1.
