East St. Louis is now an 11-time Illinois high school football champ. The Flyers, ranked No. 25 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, beat Geneva 48-28 Saturday for the Class 6A title at Hancock Stadium at Illinois State University.

The championship capped an impressive postseason run that saw the Flyers outscore their opponents 269 to 42.

ESL’s only loss this year was a one-point loss to national power IMG Academy (Florida).
