No. 25 Kahuku beats No. 50 Mililani for three-peat in Hawaii’s Open Division

Three weeks after being upset by Mililani for the Oahu Interscholastic League Open Division championship, Kahuku (12-2) gained revenge in the Open Division state championship game. Friday night, at the Clarence T. C. Ching Athletics Complex, the Red Raiders, ranked No. 25 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, beat No. 50 Mililani 21-19 for their third straight state title.

The game-winning score came late in the fourth quarter when Diezel Kamoku scored on an 86-yard punt return.

The state title is the 11th overall for the Red Raiders. Mililani (11-2) was making its first-ever Open Division championship game appearance.
