No. 251 Ware County denies No. 182 Warner Robins third straight Georgia high school football state championship

Ware County wasn’t worried about Warner Robins’ championship game experience. Saturday’s 5A championship game was the sixth straight for the Demons. On the other hand, Ware County was seeking its first state football championship.

After 48-minutes of high school football, Ware County owned its first title, after three runner-up finishes, with a 38-13 win in a battle of teams ranked in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. Ware County entered the game ranked No. 251, while the Demons were No. 182.

Junior quarterback Niko Smith completed 16 of 26 passes for 256 yard with three scores to complete a perfect 14-0 season and end the Demons hope of a three-peat.

After a 1-4 start to the season, Warner Robins finishes 10-5.
