No. 262 Pine-Richland tops No. 143 Imhotep Charter for Pennsylvania 5A high school football championship

After a 1-3 start to the 2022 season, Pine-Richland is now a Pennsylvania high school football state champ for the third time. Friday night, P-R, ranked No. 262 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, beat No. 143 Imhotep Charter 28-14 for the state’s Class 5A title.

Quarterback Ryan Palmieri, who didn’t starting playing QB until almost halfway through the regular season, had a huge game for the Rams. And, it was on both sides of the ball.

Palmieri ran for 195 yards on 31 carries and two touchdowns. He completed 4-of-4 passes for 85 yards and a touchdown. On defense, Palmieri make five tackles and had a 40-yard Pick 6 and score twice.
