No. 3 St. John’s (DC) edges No. 31 DeMatha (Maryland) in Washington Catholic Athletic Association Championship Showdown

St. John’s College High School (Washington, DC) wrapped-up a share of the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference title with a 13-7 victory over DeMatha Friday night. The Cadets, ranked No. 3 in the High School Football America 100, were led by Ronald Cook who ran for 117 yards and the game-winning score as SJC took a 13-0 second quarter lead.

The victory also wrapped-up the No. 1 seed for SJC in the upcoming WCAC playoffs. The Cadets have won 15 straight since losing in the 2016 WCAC championship game.

DeMatha can grab the No. 2 seed in the playoffs be beating Bishop McNamara (Maryland) next week. Next week, St. John’s can wrap-up the regular season title when it facse Gonzaga (Washington, DC). It will be the Cadets third straight game against a team ranked in the HSFA 100.
