St. Xavier, ranked No. 32 in the High School Football America 100 national high school football rankings powered by BlackMP Living Water, put-up 30 first quarter points on the way to a 44-3 win over No. 4 Pickerington Central in the Ohio Division I state championship. The title was the fourth overall state championship for St. X.

PC, the defending Division I champs, were playing in their third state championship game in four years.
