The Oakland Patriots, ranked No. 33 in the High School Football America 100 national rankings, are the 2018 Tennessee Class 6A champs after an another impressive defensive performance at Tennessee Tech’s Tucker Stadium. The Patriots shutout Whitehaven Thursday night 37-0, giving Oakland three postseason shutouts.
Oakland, which now owns four state titles and its first since 2008, scored on its opening drive and never looked back. Xavier Myers rushed for 107 yards and was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.

On defense, the Patriots held Whitehaven to 81 yards in total offense.
Oakland, which entered the game ranked No. 2 in our Tennessee Top 10 rankings, finishes with a 14-1 record, while Whitehaven, ranked No. 6 in our statewide poll, finishes 11-4.
