Three-time defending North Carolina Class 4AA state champ Wake Forest’s 45-game win streak is over after a 27-24 loss to Cardinal Gibbons on Saturday. The Cougars actually led 21-7 in the second quarter and took a 24-14 lead into the locker room.

Cardinal Gibbons outscored the Cougars 13-0 in the second half to pick-up the victory.

Wake Forest entered the season with the second longest active win streak in America.
