According to Jon Santucci of USA TODAY Florida Network/Herald-Tribune, Miami Northwestern is cleared in an investigation into the use of an ineligible player started last month by the Florida High School Athletic Association.
“The case was closed and no action was taken based on the information and supporting documentation provided by the member school,” FHSAA Administrator of Public Relations Kelvin Richardson wrote in an email to the USA Today Florida Network on Monday morning.
With the investigation closed, head coach Teddy Bridgewater, a former NFL quarterback, and his team can concentrate on winning a 3A state championship. This week, Bridgewater, a Northwestern alum in his first year as the team’s head coach, will play Eau Gallie in the state semifinals.
