IMG Academy quarterback Bryson Lucero passed for two touchdowns and ran for another in a 48-7 victory for the Ascenders who entered the game ranked No. 5 in the High School Football America 100. Hoover, Alabama’s two-time defending Class 7A champs, who will open the postseason next week, entered the game ranked No. 62 in the nation and No. 2 in our Alabama Top 10.

Lucero, a UAB commit, was 12-of-20 for 245 yards, plus he ran for 34 yards.

Trey Sanders also had a big game with 118 yards and two scores.
