Friday night’s battle between defending Alabama 6A champ Saraland and Clay-Chalkville lived up to the hype at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. Both teams entered the game ranked in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.

Clay-Chalkville took a 31-28 lead on a 26-yard field by Antone Ellison’s with 2:27 to go in regulation. Saraland then drove 79 yards in 11 plays to set up fourth-and-5 at the C-C 10-yard line. Saraland head coach Jeff Kelly called timeout with five seconds to go. Instead of going for a field goal and overtime, Kelly decided to go for the win. Watch the final play below.

The Cougars got the stop and the school’s fourth overall state title and third since 2014.
