No. 53 Cocoa needs OT to beat No. 210 Florida St. University HS for Florida 2S state championship

Cocoa, ranked No. 53 in the latest High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, is a Florida state champ for the first time since 2016. Friday night, the Tigers beat No. 210 Florida State University High School 38-31 in overtime to win the state’s 2S classification.

Quarterback Blake Boda’s 5-yard TD run proved to be the winning score on the first possession in OT. On Florida High’s overtime possession, the Seminoles fumbled, which sealed the victory for Cocoa.
