Carencro beat Edna Karr 35-19 Tuesday night for the Louisiana Class 4A championship, which snaps Karr’s run of four straight state titles. The Cougars were looking to tie John Curtis’ state-record of five straight state titles.
Karr, ranked No. 28 in the latest High School Football America 100 national rankings powered by BlackMP Living Water, took at 13-7 into the halftime locker room.

Carencro, which entered the state title game ranked No. 68 in our national rankings, wins its first state title since 1992. The win snapped Karr’s streak of 24 consecutive playoff wins.
