The Mission Viejo football team is celebrating the school’s second staight title, which came against the program that has won the most state titles during the bowl championship era. Friday night, the Diablos, ranked No. 68 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, beat No. 55 De La Salle 27-14 at Saddleback College.

DLS, looking for its eighth overall state championship, took a 7-0 lead, but that was followed by 24 unanswered points by MV. Phillip Bell had two touchdown catches for the Diablos.
