While every story we write about high school football and COVID-19 needs to have some sort of a preface, the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association is planning on playing in the Fall…practice…as long as nothing changes between now-and-then.

The NCISAA said Monday that high school football will begin September 4, but that could change depending on the governor’s office, which is hoping to move into Phase 3 of North Carolina’s reopening by then. If practice starts on September 4, the regular season games could begin September 18.
