The High School Football America National Top 25 welcomes a second Northwestern to our national rankings that are created with our proprietary algorithm. Miami’s Northwestern, which began the season outside our Top 50, enters the Top 25 at #25.
Former #16 St. John’s (Washington, DC) loss to Gonzaga on Saturday shakes-up this ranked from 16 on down. SJC fell to #26 in The Other 25 that was released earlier on Sunday.
Trinity (Kentucky), which has outscored its opponents 503 to 92, climbs two spots to #16 this week. American Heritage (Plantation, Florida), the only team to beat #25 Northwestern also moves up two spots to #18.
Moving-up one spot each this week are — #20 DeSoto (Texas), #21 South Pointe (South Carolina), #22 Cibolo Steele (Texas), #23 Cass Tech (Michigan) and #24 Northwestern (South Carolina).
There will be two big Top 50 match-ups this weekend.
In Ohio, #6 Colerain has a big re-match against St. Xavier, which is just outside of our Top 50. Back on September 2nd, Colerain squeezed-out a 20-14 overtime victory over St. X, which has a 6-5 record, but with losses to nationally-ranked La Salle (Ohio), St. Ignatius (Ohio), St. John Bosco (California) and Warren Central (Indiana).
In Florida, #2 IMG Academy, which isn’t eligible for the postseason in Florida, will square-off with #37 St. Frances Academy (Maryland), which owns a win over South Pointe.
