Oakland wins back-to-back Tennessee 6A high school football championships

A 30-game win streak and two straight Tennessee 6A state titles is what Oakland left Finley Stadium with on Saturday. The 43-26 win over Summit in Chattanooga gave the Patriots their third state championship in four years. Summit moved-up to 6A in 2021 after the 2020 5A state title.

Jordan James the star of the game with 232 yards rushing with two touchdowns. He also had 57 yards receiving with two more touchdowns to earn MVP honors.

During the 15-0 season, Oakland beat Tennessee Division II-AA champ Lipscomb Academy and 1A champ South Pittsburg. The Patriots also beat Mississippi Midsouth Association of Independent Schools 6A champ Madison-Ridgeland Academy.
