Massillon Washington is back on top of the High School Football America Ohio Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Tigers returned to their preseason position after beating three-time reigning Division I champ St. Edward 31-21. It was the third year in a row that the Tigers have beaten the Eagles.
The week, Massillon Washington will get a good out-of-state test against Maryland’s DeMatha, who are currently ranked No. 43 in the HSFA 300 national rankings. The Tigers are currently ranked No. 22 in the nation.
St. Ed, which drops to No. 2, will try to get back into the win column against No. 13 Glenville, the reigning Division IV champs. It will be the fourth time in the last five weeks that the Eagles have played a reigning state champ.
There are two big Greater Catholic League South matchups this week — No. 4 Archbishop Moeller plays No. 23 La Salle and No. 9 St. Xavier plays No. 10 Elder.
Aside from La Salle, there are two other new entrants in the Top 25 — Olentangy Orange at No. 19 and Ursuline at No. 25.
