A week after being beating by Walsh Jesuit, Archbishop Hoban rebounded with a 20-0 shutout win over former No. 6 Glenville, winners of two straight championships. The win flip-flops the two in the latest High School Football America Ohio Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
The Hoban win is the latest chapter in a great season of matchups at the top of our statewide rankings created with our proprietary algorithm.
It began with reigning Division II champ Massillon Washington beating three-time defending Division I champ St. Edward 31-21 on September 20. Following week, Glenville edged St. Ed 28-27.
Hoban will close-out the season with a trip to No. 2 St. Edward, which this week will play No. 3 Archbishop Moeller.
Olentangy Orange climbs five spots in the new rankings. The Pioneers move to No. 13 after beating Upper Arlington 28-20. UA drops from No. 12 to No. 14 this week.
First place in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference is on the line Friday night when No. 10 Winton Woods squares-off with No. 17. Both teams bring perfect 8-0 records into the game.
