Orem wins fourth straight Utah high school football championship

Orem will try to tie the Utah state record for consecutive state championships in 2021. Friday night, the Tigers beat Timpview 26-13 for their fourth straight championship. It was the second straight year that the two schools met for the 5A championship.

After being tied at 6-6 at the half, Orem used a strong running game led by Kolton Brown-Dye, Payton Skipps and Joe Smith. The trio accounted for all four touchdowns with Smith leading the way with 100 yards rushing on 21 carries with one touchdown. Skipps scored twice and Brown-Dye scored the other rushing touchdown.

A one point during the regular season, Orem didn’t play a game for a month due to opponents dealing with COVID-19.
