Oscar Smith left no doubt Saturday that is was deserving on the No. 1 ranking in the High School Football America Virginia Top 10. The Tigers captured their first state championship in a decade with a 62-21 rout of defending 2019 state champ South County, which entered the title game ranked No. 3 in our statewide rankings.
The victory avenged a 14-13 loss to South County in the 2019 title game.
