Arkansas high school football was shocked Friday night when 4A Parkview surprised five-time defending 7A champ Bryant 28-27. The loss snaps the Hornets’ 54-game win streak against in-state opponents. It also brought an end to the Hornets 24-game overall win streak.

As far as the latest statewide rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, Bryant remains No. 1. The reason the Hornet remain at the top is because of their strength of schedule in our rankings that are created with our proprietary algorithm. Just last week, the Hornets easily defeated two-time defending Missouri Class 6 champ CBC.

The win does move Parkview from No. 10 to No. 3, plus also brought the Patriots into our national rankings at No. 198.
