There are four new teams in the latest High School Football America Pennsylvania Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
State College (4-1) enters the statewide rankings, created with our proprietary algorithm, at No. 22. The Little Lions only loss was 7-6 to No. 14 Harrisburg. Half of the WPIAL Class AAAAAA Allegheny Six is now in the Top 25 after Upper St. Clair (5-0) and Bethel Park (5-0) enter at No. 23 and No. 25 respectlvely. This week, USC opens conference play against No. 11 Peters Township.
The fourth newbie is Parkland, which is re-enters at No. 24, after beating former No. 23 Nazareth 31-6.
Aside from the Peters Township/Upper St. Clair showdown, there are two other head-to-heads this week in the Top 25.
Out west, in the Quad-County Conference, first place is on the line as No. 7 Pittsburgh Central Catholic hosts No. 10 North Allegheny.
In a non-league matchup, No. 9 Downingtown West travels to No. 18 West Chester Bayard Rustin.
