It was a calm week in the High School Football America Pennsylvania Top 25 that is created with our proprietary algorithm. The only surprise was No. 16 Pittsburgh Central Catholic was upset in the WPIAL Class 6A semifinals.
Seneca Valley overcame a 14-0 first half deficit to beat the Vikings 15-14. The win moves Raiders into the statewide rankings at No. 25. Up next for Seneca Valley is No. 3 North Allegheny, a team they lost to 10-6 on September 28.
Speaking of rematches, No. 2 Coatesville will play No. 23 Downingtown East for the second time this year in the District 1 Class 6A playoffs. The Red Raiders beat East 42-7 in the regular season finale a couple of weeks ago.
Then there’s the rematch in the District 3 Class 6A playoffs between No. 15 Manheim Township and No. 17 Central Dauphin. Back on September 7, Manheim Township won 22-12.
The final head-to-head Top 25 matchup is in the District 3 5A playoffs where No. 20 Cedar Cliff takes on No. 24 Warwick.
