The 2019 Pennsylvania high school football state championships in Hershey are upon us.

The state’s top-ranked team, St. Joseph’s Prep will look to win its second straight Class 6A state title when it faces No. 3 Central Dauphin on Saturday. The Hawks, who are also ranked No. 13 in the High School Football America 100 national rankings, survived an overtime scare on Saturday, defeating No. 2 Pittsburgh Central Catholic 31-24 in the state semifinals.

In 5A, Archbishop Wood will play Cheltenham. Wood, which has won six straight since losing to St. Joe’s on October 11, moves up seven spots this week to No. 13 after beating former No. 11 Gateway 24-21 in the state semifinals.

In the 4A championship game, No. 12 Thomas Jefferson takes-on Dallas, which moves-up from No. 25 to No. 22 in the latest statewide rankings that are created with our proprietary algorithm. TJ owns three Pennsylvania state championship crowns.

Central Valley, which moves from No. 24 to No. 21 this week, will play Wyoming Area for the 3A crown.

The 2A championship features No. 7 Southern Columbia going after its third straight state championship and 10th overall. The Tigers will play Avonworth, needing only 43 points to set a single-season state scoring record. SC enters the game having scored 812 points.

The 1A title game features Farrell and Bishop Guilfoyle.
