NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday on X that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts recently paid for the funeral expenses for North Shore (Texas) linebacker Jarvon Coles. Earlier this month, the 18-year old was killed during a drive-by shooting.

According to Rapoport, Hurts decided to pay for the funeral after he read about Coles’ death. Hurts played at Channelview High School, a North Shore rival during the the Eagles quarterback’s scholastic days.

Coles was an outstanding student-athlete with a 4.1 grade point average. He was going to play college football at Lamar University.
