The Pittsburg Steelers have named Sto-Rox High School head coach as the winner of the team’s High School Coach of the Week Award. After an 0-2 start, the Vikings have won four straight. Last week, Sto-Rox beat Washington 36-0 to qualify for the WPIAL Class 2A playoffs.

“This is a program that we are very proud of,” said Mike Marchinsky, the Steelers’ Youth Football & Player Relations Manager, in a letter to Mills. “(This) recognizes the hard work and dedication that you and your staff have to the football players in our region on and off the field. “

Mills will be a guest of the Steelers this Sunday when they play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The award includes a $1,000 donation to the Sto-Rox football program from the Steelers and the NFL Foundation.

During each high school football season, the Pittsburgh Steelers select a High School Coach of the Week. This coach is selected by the Steelers as someone who has a big victory, a turnaround season, does extraordinary work in their community, and/or gives great effort to make a lasting positive impact in his student athletes. The Coach of the Week winners are invited to be honored at a Steelers home game and receive a framed certificate signed by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Head Coach Mike Tomlin; a Steelers Coach of the Week cap and a $1,000 donation to their football program.
