TGIF…
Wait…does that phrase even exist until we come out of this? Really, isn’t every day a Friday these days?
At High School Football America, we keep trying to deliver fresh content that gives our readers a distraction from the news of the day. Today’s podcast is with my good friend and colleague Dave Lesko of WFMZ-TV in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Dave and I have been friends for over a quarter-of-a-century.
Full disclosure…this podcast isn’t 100% high school football. Dave and I have a longggggg history of working together. I consider Dave one of THE best high school sports journalists in America.
Today, when I called to make sure he and his mom are during OK during this coronavirus pandemic, I informed Dave that I’d be recording an interview. What you hear below is a result of 25-years of knowledge of each other.
We covered A LOT of ground on topics like — what are local television stations doing with no high school sports to cover, to some of Dave’s great impressions that range from Mike Tyson to Larry Holmes to Mario Andretti, to the late Pennsylvania Hall of Fame high school football coach Mike Pettine, Sr.

If the Pettine name sounds familiar…his son Mike, Jr. is the current defensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers and the former head coach of the Cleveland Browns.
If you’re from our hometown area of the Lehigh Valley, we hope this podcast will take your mind off the news of the day for a bit. For others, we hope this podcast teaches you about one of America’s premier places for high school sports.

And, for those of you who listened to the entire podcast, below is Dave’s picture with former Philadelphia Eagle cornerback Eric Allen at Super Bowl 52, which completed our 25-year old joke between the two of us.
