One of the best high school football stories in America is on the south side of Chicago where Troy McAllister and his staff have raised the Wendell Phillips Academy football program from the ashes that had only twelve football players when he took over in 2010 to one that has won two Illinois state football championships in the last four years. The Wildcats are currently ranked No. 93 in the High School Football America 100 national rankings.

Saturday night, Phillips, ranked No. 2 in the High School Football America Illinois High School Football Top 10, will battle No. 9 Simeon in what could be called the Chicago Public League’s “Super Bowl.”
