Lathrop won its first-ever state title last year when the Malemutes snapped No. 5 Soldotna’s run of eight straight state titles.
The Juneau-Douglas/Thunder Mountain co-op, which lost to Bettye Davis East in last year’s Division I title game, begins 2022 ranked No. 3.
