Kahuku leads the Preseason High School Football America Hawaii Top 10 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The two-time reigning Open Division champs have the unenviable task of playing the top two teams in the HSFA 300 national rankings — No. 1 Mater Dei and No. 2 St. John Bosco from Southern California.

Because of that tough schedule, Kahuku starts 2023 ranked No. 51 in our national rankings.

Punahou starts the season No. 2 in our statewide rankings that are created with our proprietary algorithm. The Buff n’ Blue is coming off a runner-up finish in the Open Division. Their only two losses came at the hands of Kahuku.

Like the Red Raiders, Punahou will challenge a Southern California-power when it travels to the mainland to take-on Corona Centennial, ranked No. 30 in our preseason national rankings. That game will be played September 2 in San Diego.

The Buff n’ Blue will also play SoCal’s Long Beach Millikan at home of August 18.

Below is the entire preseason Top 10.
