Booker T. Washington vs. Miami Central – Part Deux.

Once again, the two Miami and Florida heavyweights will slug it out tonight at Traz Powell Stadium for the right to remain in the national championship chase.

BTW won last year’s game 28-17, which catapulted the Tornadoes to a “mythical” national championship in many polls.  Booker T. finished #3 in our final 2013 rankings.  The Tornadoes went-on to win Florida’s 4A state title, while Miami Central captured the 6A crown.

Tonight, Booker T. Washington brings a 28 game win streak into the contest and a #3 ranking in the HSFA Top 25. Miami Central is ranked #7 and riding a 14-game win streak.

Both teams bring 2-0 marks into the contest with impressive showings on the road.  BTW beat Virginia-power Oscar Smith in Week 1 and Georgia’s Tucker last week.  Miami Central opened with a nationally televised win over then #2 Hoover in Alabama and followed that up with a win one-point win over Stephenson from Georgia last week.

The Georgia victories were in the Battle of the Borders, so that means both teams got to scout each other up-close and personal.

BTW has won the last two in the series.
