#1 Allen (2-0) is on the road tonight against Boyd (1-1) and Eagle fans are hoping they’re not in for another shoot-out.
The Eagles offense has been virtually unstoppable in wins over defending state champs Denton Guyer (Texas) and Dutch Fork (South Carolina), but the Allen defense hasn’t been good at stopping anyone. The Eagles have given up 94 points and 544 yards rushing in two games with eight TD’s coming on the ground.
Boyd running back Dedrick Scrivens, who rushed for a school record 371 yards last week in a 28-21 upset win over Coppell, should be a good test to see if the Eagles have improved on defense.
As bad as the Allen defense has been, all-everything quarterback Kyler Murray has been just that good – sensational is probably the word. The Texas A&M commit has 1,064 yards in total offense in two games – 775 passing and 289 rushing. Murray has tossed five touchdowns passes and run for eight.
