For the second year in a row, four-time state champion Pulaski Academy won the 11th annual Shootout of the South 7 on 7 passing tournament in Little Rock, Arkansas, but for the first time since 2013, the Bruins lost a 7-on-7 game.
Searcy defeated Pulaski 37-35 in Friday’s pool play, which snapped the program’s 76-game 7-on-7 win streak. The Bruins bounced back from that defeat and ran-the-table, defeating DeSoto Central from Mississippi 50-42 in the championship game.
