Both of the top two teams in the High School Football America Rhode Island Top 5 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, lost last weekend, but both hold their spots in the latest statewide rankings created with our proprietary algorithm.
Top-ranked Bishop Hendicken lost in the final minutes to Connecticut-power Greenwich 21-20. No. 2 La Salle lost to Massachusetts’ St. John’s Prep 28-0.
Now the stage is set for this week’s showdown between the arch-rivals. After losing to La Salle in the 2022 state championship game, Hendricken beat their rivals 22-12 in last season’s regular season matchup.
As far as the rest of the rankings, No. 3 St. Raphael Academy picked-up a quality win over No. 4 Cranston West last week. Damien Ocampo scored four touchdowns in the 28-13 win.
