Rigby finishes regular season ranked No. 1 in High School Football America Idaho Top 5

Defending 5A champ Rigby enters the postseason as the No. 1 team in the High School Football America Idaho Top 5 statewide rankings. The Trojans closed-out the regular season with a perfect 8-0 record after beating Madison 56-6.

Speaking of finishing perfect, Coeur d’Alene heads to the playoffs with a 7-0 record. Last year’s 5A runner-ups to Rigby, finished the regular season by beating No. 5 Post Falls 30-14.

The win gives the Vikings the 5A District 1-2 title. It was the second matchup between the two this year. During a non-league game on October 2 CdA won 48-7.

Both Rigby and Coeur d’Alene will receive first round byes in the Class 5A playoffs.

No. 4 Rocky Mountain will also get a first round bye into the state quarterfinals after closing-out a 7-0 regular season.

Eagle enters the statewide rankings created with our proprietary algorithm at No. 5.
