Robby Pruitt, head coach at Coffee (Georgia), returns to Florida high school football

Robby Pruitt, the youngest high school football coach to ever be inducted into the Florida High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame, is heading back to the Sunshine State after nearly two decades of coaching high school football in Georgia. Pruitt is taking-over at Williston High School after resigning fro Coffee High School in Douglas, Georgia.

Prior to moving to Georgia, in 16 years as a Florida head coach, Pruitt compiled a record of 156 wins and 28 losses. He coached University Christian School (Jacksonville) to four state championships in 1987, 1989, 1991 and 1992. He then moved to Union County High School in Lake Butler, where he led the Tigers to three consecutive state titles in 1994, 1995 and 1996 and a state record 52 consecutive wins.

During his time in Georgia, he won one state championship. That came in his first year at Fitzgerald in 2000. Pruitt led Coffee to a runner-up finish in Georgia’s 6A classification in 2017.

Pruitt’s record in Georgia was 209-63-1. Overall, he owns 376-93-1 record.

Williston, a 1A school, went 1-8 last season. The program hasn’t had a winning season since 2016.
