To get you ready for tonight’s College Football National Championship between Notre Dame and Ohio State, High School Football America gives you each team’s roster and where each player played high school football. We use the rosters from each team’s website.

Ohio State’s 122-man roster has 54 former high school football players from the Buckeye State. On the other hand, Notre Dame’s roster truly has a national feel with 30 different states and three different countries represented.

However, we should point out that despite the large number of Ohioans on the Ohio State roster, 20 other states are represented along with three different countries.

As far as the head coaches, Notre Dame’s Marcus Freeman is actually a product of Ohio. He played at Wayne High School in Huber Heights. He was a four-year starter and was named a Parade All-American after his senior season. Freeman recorded 127 tackles with four sacks and then went on to play lineback at Ohio State.

Freeman was drafted in the fifth round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. However, Freeman never played in a regular season NFL game.

Ohio State’s Ryan Day played his high school ball in New Hampshire. As a quarterback and defensive back at Manchester Central, Day was named Gatorade’s New Hampshire Player of the Year.
