Seven-time high school football state championship coach Rush Propst is the new head coach at Valdosta, America’s all-time leader in high school football victories. Propst was elected as the Wildcats new head coach by a vote of 5-4 Tuesday night.

The hiring of the controversial Propst ends a two-month search for a new head coach after Alan Rodemaker was fired at the end of January. Propst spent 2019 without a coaching job after he was fired in mid-March 2019 from Colquitt County in south Georgia.

Propst Georgia teaching certificate was suspended after his firing, but was reinstated in February.

Propst’s record with Colquitt County was 119-35 with state titles in 2014 and 2015. The ’15 team was named as the “mythical” High School Football America nation champs.

More to come later.
