San Francisco 49ers name Phil Ferrigno as their finalist for 2022 Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year Award

The 2022 San Francisco 49ers PREP U.S. Bank Charlie Wedemeyer Memorial Coach of the Year Award goes to Lincoln’s Phil Ferrigno. He’s now a finalist for the Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year Award.

In 2022, Coach Ferrigno led Lincoln to its third state title under his direction. The Cougars beat Crenshaw 54-6 for the CIF Division 7-A state championship.

During his two decades as the San Francisco school, Ferrigno has led the school to 17 postseasons.

Coach Ferrigno was also saluted during the regular season as the 49ers’ Week 1 Coach of the Week.
