Scituate wins Massachusetts Division 4 Super Bowl championship

Scituate won the Massachusetts Division 4 championship Friday night at Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots, in exciting fashion.

The Sailors trailed Duxbury 13-6 with under a minute to play. Andrew Bossey’s 10-yard touchdown run with :27 seconds to play closed the gap to 13-12.

Head coach Herb Devine decided to go for two and the win. When Keegan Sullivan converted the two-point conversion, the Sailors had a 14-13 and a championship trophy.

Duxbury entered the game ranked No. 8 in the High School Football America Massachusetts Top 10, powered by NFL Play Football.

The Super Bowl championship is the second in four years for Scituate, which won the state title in 2018.
